Great Resources
Support People Who Provide What You Value
I am becoming more specific these days about where I spend my money.
It’s not the actual spending that concerns me, but who I support with the dollars I earn and eventually spend.
With that in mind, I am continually adding to this list of valuable resources. Why not buy our products and services from people who support the causes we cherish and a healthy, peaceful and sustainable world?
There are featured listings for this month (scroll below), along with the ever-growing following categories: Meditation Tools, Learning Opportunities, Art, Health, Yoga Studios & Supplies, Books & CD's, Earth Love
FEBRUARY FEATURED RESOURCES
HEALTH
Lifelong Health - Rod LeBlanc Dr. TCM R.Ac Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine www.lifelonghealth.ca 604.538.6850
Rod and his amazing team have a way of treating the whole person. Rod
takes the time to explain the processes he uses, and I, along with many others I know, have seen tremendous improvement. It's not always easy to know where to go for complementary health services. You will find a great benefit at LLH.
Rod offers FREE Qi Gong - a form of energy and breath exercise that balances and rejuvenates the mind and body every morning at 8 am, Monday - Friday, for those of you in the area. Check out his website for more information.
YOGA STUDIOS
Live Yoga – 1227 Johnston Rd, White Rock BC www.liveyoga.ca
Of course, yoga studios are only suitable recommendations if you live somewhere nearby – and if you live in White Rock or South Surrey, this is a wonderful studio where you can deepen your practice. The philosophy is concurrent with Inside Silence – we live from the inside out. At Live Yoga you practice your yoga from the inside out, whether strenuous postures or meditative style stretches, the focus is on your connection to yourself and not your neighbor or what you’re wearing. I find the community there nourishing and challenging – just the right combination!
BOOKS & CD's
Meditation Week by Week is highly recommended at INSIDE SILENCE to all meditators and especially to beginners or those somewhat familiar with meditation. Full of tools to help experience meditation, David Fontana offers a non-religious and descriptive guide to a rich inner life. (If you are in a series or personal session with me feel free to ask to browse my copy.)
Tibetan Meditation Music is one of my recent favorites. Written and performed by a man who spent decades living as a monk and hermit, Grammy Award nominee Nawang K Hechog has captured an essence of inner self. I love to spend the hour he provides and if not, 10 minutes of breath and this music sets me securely in my Self just right!
(When you click to purchase your copy from this website at the link above, you help to provide products and services to those who really need the help, but do not have the resources. INSIDE SILENCE receives the occasional gift certificate from Amazon and donates them to those in need.)
If you have some recommendations that should be here – contact me with your ideas on the Contact US page. I’d love to check it out. Many of these items are also featured in the INSIDE SILENCE INSIGHTS. (You can subscribe from the Contact Us Page.)
Harmony Thiessen has served as a spiritual coach and instructor for over 25 years. Her approach has evolved over the years to rest in a comfortable relationship with silence. "From the "inside advantage" life becomes a creative work of hope, adventure, peaceful presence and abiding love."
